It was extremely busy when we went. This clearly impacted on the service as this was my second time going. We couldn't hear ourselves talk as the noise was so much and the seating were quite close to each other. Food tasted great however we asked for no Berries on the french toast due to allergy but they still put berries on the plate which was very wrong. The French toast was remade however it made me feel uneasy & extremely cautious. Couldn't try my cousins food as i did not want to take any risk. They also took long to bring our drinks which I wasn't happy about as we ordered our drinks first but our meal came out first and had to request for our drinks again before it was served. But I must say the ackee & saltfish meal was delicious

Ordering The Works gives you a true sense of what this place does best. The plate arrives brimming with colour and comfort: pancakes stacked thick and fluffy, hash browns fried to a golden crisp, seasoned beans tucked neatly into their little pot, soft scrambled eggs, ribbons of turkey bacon, slices of fried plantain, and a chicken sausage. The pancakes are the first thing that catch your attention airy and soft, with just the right bounce in each bite. Paired with syrup that’s likely golden syrup, the sweetness isn’t overwhelming but instead melts beautifully into the sponge, tying the plate together with a quiet richness. The savoury elements land just as strongly. The hash browns are everything you hope they’ll be l crunchy outside, buttery inside while the plantain is fried to perfection, offering that caramelised edge before yielding to a tender, sweet centre. The beans are small in portion but mighty in flavour; seasoned and rich, they bring depth to the plate, though the tiny serving leaves you wishing for more. Turkey bacon proves reliable and tasty, but the chicken sausage unfortunately lags behind mild and under-seasoned, it feels like the one note in the dish that doesn’t quite sing. Still, the plate holds together with balance and thoughtfulness. The scrambled eggs are creamy without being runny, the fruit on the side mango, kiwi, passionfruit is refreshingly ripe and genuinely fresh, not just there for decoration. Together, it makes for a meal that feels considered, comforting, and satisfying from start to finish. What makes Break the Fast even more interesting is its wider menu. There’s a clear Caribbean influence here that sets it apart from most breakfast spots: dishes like ackee and saltfish or the jerk chicken loaded fries bring a welcome sense of identity and flair, while at the same time there’s space for vegans too, with options like tofu-based breakfasts or avocado and tofu toast. It’s a menu that manages to be both creative and inclusive without losing its focus. Altogether, this is a café that’s doing something different in the breakfast scene. With more generous bean portions and a better-seasoned sausage, it could easily reach perfection. As it stands, it’s still a memorable and well-executed experience that I’d happily recommend whether you’re here for the pancakes, the Caribbean touches, or the thoughtful vegan options.

My friend and I had the pleasure of enjoying brunch at this lovely spot, and it did not disappoint! The service was absolutely impeccable, and the food was both delicious and generously portioned — we left feeling completely full and incredibly happy. The ladies who served us were so warm and welcoming; it was clear they genuinely enjoy what they do, which made the experience even more special. We’ll definitely be back! I came here in June for my daughter’s 10th birthday, the staff were amazing and they even gave my daughter a free birthday pankcakes. The food was amazing also and delicious, the only issue was the beans were salty and the fried dumplings was a little hard but overall I still enjoyed the food and I will definitely be attending again to try out more on the menu. I love what they are doing and very happy they are place locally to me. Keep making everyone proud

I went to Breakthefast for my birthday brunch, and it was divine. The food was delicious and plated to perfection. A big clap to the chef. and the rum punch was fantastic. It definitely hit the spot! You have to get there early to get seated straight away as it gets busy and you will have to queue. I will be back for round two.

Great service from the moment we walked in. Seated so quickly and the staff were all so smiley and friendly throughout. The food came out quickly and was delicious! The pancakes tasted like birthday cake. (I don’t know how they did it.) There was no rush from the staff even though it was full. Everything just seemed to be handled so well and so smoothly! Would definitely go back and will recommend even though I’d love to gate keep it.

So glad we decide don this place. We will have to come back! No queues with friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. The vegan option was lush and very filling too!

What a gem!! The food is incredible, the Ackee and Saltfish was delicious! The Fritters were the perfect balance of spicy, sweet and sour, but most of all, the service was top notch! Highly recommend!!
